Growing up in a western culture where everything seems to go fast and space for emotions and personal growth feels none existing. Indi wants to break down that boundary and open the doors to our experiences in life. From an early ages she started making different kinds of objects to express her emotion, because finding the right words didn’t work and felt limited. So using her creations to communicate is a power Indi still uses.

Through research from psychology and inspiration from her surroundings, Indi shapes her observations to visual work. Through collage and writing in her journal, she creates the start of her concept. Inspired by dance and body language she then makes the base of the final artwork. Using textile mixed with different materials, the body shape as a language to communicate. Indi de Pindi makes a variety of work from performance art, photography, objects and wall sculptures. Textile is material used to make the connection with ourselves. Something we use to wear every day to express. With recognizable shapes and materials she gets the viewer to be curious about the work and opens the door for our emotions.
Working without sketching first, but starting directly with the work. Indi creates a communication between her and the art piece.
She looks at it to see how it wants to move, where it wants to go and forms the piece through this conversation.

This brings forward a organic flow in the work and holds the opportunity for new ideas to be added.
